How to deep clean your vacuum cleaner!

We are always so busy trying to get everything clean, but how often do we think about cleaning our cleaning products?

One of the dirtiest things we use to clean with is our vacuum cleaners. I know my vacuum picks up so much dog hair everyday that it goes through the ringer! Plus, a good clean drastically changes the performance of a vacuum cleaner!

I always start by unplugging the vacuum, and then I take all the removable pieces off. I fill my sink full of sudsy hot water and clean all the tools. I have a vacuum with a washable filter, so I clean that as well! I also have a bagless vacuum, so I just clean the container. If you have a vacuum with a bag, you should replace it.

I then get a washcloth and wipe down the whole vacuum. I like to use vinegar as a disinfectant as well.

Then, I flip the vacuum over and cut all the hair on the rotator in the suction part of the vacuum. I remove that and throw it away.

Afterwards, I clean the bottom of the vacuum with a washcloth.

Once everything is dry, I put the vacuum back together! If you have a washable filter, do not put it back until it is completely dry! This may take two days, but it has to be dry to work properly.
