Restaurants to Go to After Your Magnolia Market Visit
So you made it all the way to Magnolia Market, and it’s lunchtime – where do you go?
The Magnolia Market offers a variety of great food trucks – and you can always go to their new restaurant, the Magnolia Table (read about my experience). But if you want to sit down and the Magnolia Table is too crowded for you, downtown Waco has a ton of great places to chose from – all within a walking distance.
Hecho En Waco
If you are feeling Mexican food, Hecho en Waco is a great place to try some authentic bites! I am one of those people that always order the same thing at Mexican restaurants (quesadillas), and this place pushes me to try new things!
They also have great margaritas!
Clay Pot
If we are being honest, Waco is not the best place for Asian cuisine. However, Clay Pot is the exception! I could eat spring rolls and drink boba tea all day long!
They are well known for their pho, and they have been in Waco for 20 years! Plus, they just moved downtown!
Cricket’s Bar and Grill
I have talked about Cricket’s in Waco a few times because they have some of the best bar food (their drink specials are awesome)! I personally love their french fries – and their fish and chips!
If you love a good burger, they have those too!
Ninfa’s
Ninfa’s is a great place downtown if you are looking for tex-mex! It smells amazing from outside, and the queso is delicious!

Olive Branch Bakery and Cafe
My favorite place in downtown Waco for a light lunch is the Olive Branch Bakery and Cafe. It is located right under Spice Village (another must stop), and they have great salads and breakfast!

Coach’s Smoke BBQ
If you are in Texas, you might be sniffing around for some BBQ.
This is the best place to go if you love meat, burgers and bacon!
Torchy’s Tacos
There are two places I frequent downtown, and Torchy’s is one of them. I firmly believe they have the best guacamole ever, and they have great breakfast tacos too!
Twisted Root Burger Co.
Twisted Root has a great atmosphere and a great burger selection! You can pick your bun, meat and cheese – plus they have tons of pre-created options!
And if you love pickles like me, you have to try the ranch pickles!
Portofino’s
Portofino’s is one of the best Italian restaurants in Waco! They have a great selection – but prepared to be super full!
Alpha & Omega
OKAY, so this is my favorite place in all of Waco! This is Greek food – really good greek food.
I love their gyros (the only one I don’t like is the beef), and they have a tilapia gyro that I probably have eaten 100 times. Their fries are also fantastic.
But if you come on a day where they have the fish and chips special – get it. It is so tasty!
Their desserts are amazing!
