How $4 can get you these boho-inspired black tribal ornaments

Right before Christmas, my sister asked me, “Are we going to go all out for Christmas, like we did for fall?” And I was like, of course!

And then, we went out to the shed. We pulled out the Christmas boxes. And I realized something awful. I didn’t like any of my old Christmas decorations, and I was going to have to start from scratch.

A big change for me in 2018 was the switch from farmhouse-glam to boho-scandi style in my entire house. Farmhouse-glam never truly felt like me,and this new style is allowing me to express myself. So when I looked into theboxes, I immediately felt my wallet burning.

December is the worst time of the year to blow money on decorations, so I needed to get creative. I went to Hobby Lobby with my coupons, and I found a box of matte and shiny ornaments on the cheap. Right now, I am loving matte black for Christmas, so I knew I wanted to jazz them up for my décor this year.

So, I decided I wanted to create black tribal ornaments.

In the fall, I did a super easy craft with dinosaurs where I painted them with markers, and I did a similar thing here. I ended up hanging some of the ornaments on my Christmas tree and displaying some in a copper basket.

I used a simple white paint marker, and they ended up terrific!

The best part – this project cost $4! I used a paint marker I already had, and the Christmas balls were 4 dollars with a coupon (and you know your girl had left over ornament hanging thingys).
