This weekend, I turned 24. I have one more year until I hit my quarter-life-crisis, so I knew I had to celebrate the right way!

A few of my friends and I went to Saltgrass Steakhouse to try their new Frozen Crown and Coke! My favorite mixed drink is whiskey and Coke – hands down (I know how boring that is, but I love it!).

I was really excited to try my favorite drink frozen – and I was not disappointed! The drink is a little vanilla-y, which I love because it makes it taste so cozy and perfect for fall! Plus, they are served in adorable little mason jar mugs – you can’t really get more Texas than that.

The Frozen Crown and Coke is a limited time offering at Saltgrass Steakhouse. For $2.00 more, you can add a topper of Crown Royal Deluxe, Crown Royal Maple, Crown Royal Regal Apple or Crown Royal Vanilla.

Next time, I really want to try the maple.

THE MEAL

Of course, I didn’t just decide to go to my favorite steakhouse for a great drink, I also wanted a great steak – and bread. The bread is my favorite part!

The most difficult part about Saltgrass is trying to ration the bread, so you can still eat your entire meal!

I usually fail, but it makes for great leftovers the next day!

As for my order. I went with the basic 12 oz New York Strip with their amazing mashed potatoes! I couldn’t pass up the classic with a fresh Caesar salad.

AND – my friends and I agree that their mashed potatoes are 100 percent better than baked potatoes, and that we could probably eat them for the rest of our lives.

My best friend is a pescatarian, so she tried the Blackened Redfish, and it almost made me second guess my steak.

I am a huge seafood fan, and the dish is served with shrimp and crab meat.

Also, she got the mashed potatoes – because it is a no brainer!

We really wanted to try the Pumpkin Cheesecake (because pumpkin is my favorite part of life), but I was so full by the end of it! I will have to return for a dessert date soon!

I love how Saltgrass is also decorated to match the city it is in. Waco is a great little town of the Brazos River, and you can really feel it at the Saltgrass!

Afterwards, we played board games and relaxed after our tasty and filling meal! It was so great to be able to see everyone and relax!
