How to have a at-home manicure

Today’s video is how you can have a manicure at home! I love how polished outfits look with a well maintained manicure! But it’s hard with the prices of going to the spa and getting your nails done! This is why I am giving you the guide to doing it at home!

  1. Make sure you have removed all of your nail polish!
  2. Soak your nails in some warm water for about 10 minutes.
  3. Apply cuticle oil to your nail beds and push the cuticles down. Put your nails back into the warm water for about five minutes.
  4. Dry your hands and clean up any hang nails or dead skin. File down your nails to your ideal shape.
  5. Make sure your nails are clean and apply a sticky bottom coat. Allow to dry for about five minutes.
  6. Apply your first coat of nail polish; let dry for 5 minutes. Apply second coat. Let dry for another five minutes.
  7. Apply top coat. Make sure your nails are completely dry before you do anything!

As someone who always ruins my nails because I do too much before they dry, I cannot stress the five minute wait! Five minutes of waiting time lets the polish dry enough to get tacky and hold on the next layer, and it cuts done on final drying time. DO NOT RUSH THIS!

Other than that, I hope you love your new nails! Mine usually last about a week, and I just add a new coat. I usually clean up my nails about twice a month.

How do you extend your manicure?

XOXO

Taylor
